#his books got her through her mother’s murder #and then they met #and he was this nuisance that tagged along on her cases and dug into her personal life #and it took awhile but she started to see as he really is #and became her partner #and offered up 100 gran like it’s no big fucking deal #and saved her life over and over #and he was this playboy who just needed something new and exciting #found a muse #who turned out to be literally the perfect woman #one he wrote in clara strike #but found in kate beckett #AND THEY BOTH DID CHANGE BUT NOT REALLY #THEY GREW BUT DIDN’T CHANGE

 #and that’s the essence of what i love about this show#these two characters have grown and opened up so much but they never lost their true sense of self #AND THE SHOW NEVER MADE THEM DO THAT EITHER#i mean just look at this clip: #one moment castle is playing with a toy spaceship and the next he’s having a super deep conversation about change#how does this juxtaposition not fascinate the hell out of everyone dear god
